5 things every plumber's website must have to get the call
A person with a burst pipe does not browse. These five fixes decide whether they call you or the next result on the list.
A person with water coming through the ceiling does not browse. They search, tap the first site that looks legit, and call. If your site makes them work for it, they hit back and call the next name on the list.
Here are the five things that decide which way that goes.
1. A phone number they can tap from any screen
Top of every page, big enough to hit with a thumb, wired as a tap-to-call link. If someone has to pinch-zoom to read your number off a header image, you already lost the emergency jobs, and emergency jobs are where the margin is.
2. Proof you show up
Reviews near the top of the page, not buried under a slogan. License number and insurance, stated plainly. Photos of your actual truck and your actual work, because homeowners can smell a stock photo of a model holding a wrench from across the room. The question in their head is "will this guy show up and not wreck my house," and your site should answer it in five seconds.
3. Your service area, in plain words
"Serving Yonkers, New Rochelle, and the Bronx" beats "quality service for all your plumbing needs" every single time. People check whether you cover their block before they call. If they cannot tell, they do not call, and Google cannot rank you for "plumber near me" in towns you never mention.
4. A form that takes 30 seconds
Not every job is an emergency. For the planned ones, a short form works: name, phone, what is going on. Every extra field costs you leads, and "how did you hear about us" has never fixed a water heater.
5. Speed, on a phone, in a parking lot
Your customer is on a phone with two bars, standing in a basement or a parking lot. If your site takes six seconds to load, it may as well be down. Test yours on your own phone, off wifi. If you watch a spinner, so do they.
None of this is decoration. Each one removes a reason to bail before the call. Want to know how your site scores on all five? Send it over and we will send back a free teardown, no pitch attached. Or see how we build for trades.
