Why your beauty business needs a website (not just Instagram)
Instagram fills your feed with admirers. A website turns them into booked appointments with deposits down. Here is what changes when clients stop having to DM you first.
Your last ten clients probably found you on Instagram. So paying for a website can feel like buying a second phone. The feed is free, the followers are real, and the DMs keep coming.
That last part is the problem. The DMs keep coming.
Instagram is a gallery, not a front desk
Someone finds your work at 11pm and loves it. She sends the message: "how much for powder brows?" Then she waits. Maybe you answer in the morning between appointments. By then she has messaged two other artists, and one of them had a booking link.
Instagram is built to keep people scrolling, and it does that well. What it will not do: post your prices, hold a deposit, enforce your cancellation policy, or answer "how much" for the fortieth time this month. Every one of those jobs lands back on your phone, usually at night.
What a site does while you work
A booking-first site is a front desk that never closes. Your prices and policies are posted, so the "just checking prices" crowd answers its own question. Your healed work sits next to a Book button instead of three taps away from one. A deposit is collected before a slot is held, which is the single fastest way to stop no-shows.
None of that needs you to touch your phone. That is the point.
The Google problem
When someone in Astoria or White Plains searches "powder brows near me," Google does not read your Instagram. It reads websites and Google Business Profiles, and now its AI answers do too. No site means you are not in that answer. An artist with average work and a decent site is.
Keep Instagram. Add the part that books.
Instagram stays what it is: the place people fall for your work. The site is where they commit. Your link in bio stops saying "DM me" and starts taking deposits.
